7 year old Frankie Pizzi of Baiting Hollow designed and created a series of “one-of a-kind” trading cards which featured people from hockey players to movie characters, in the hopes of raising money for his local animal shelter, the North Fork Animal Welfare League (NFAWL) which runs the previous Riverhead Animal Shelter. Frankie donated 100% of the proceeds, which was a total of $57.00. “This was entirely his idea. Frankie loves animals and he also loves coming up with new projects and ideas. He wanted to do something to help his local shelter buy supplies for the dogs there. He worked really hard on these cards. It really worked out.” Community involvement is very important. Every little bit helps. Way to go Frankie!
